Morning All,

and If I could type with a stuffed up nose I would...Ha ;) I hope you all had a Wonderful Christmas, we did. Looks like I finally caught the crud though and it is bad. Although I did force myself to go shoot last night. I went downtown and shot a couple of the theaters after dark. My inspiration for this is Thomas Carrigen, he was a photographer from 1922 til he passed. He shot images of downtown Casper as it evolved, did portrait work, and also commercial work. One of is more famous images is the Rex Theater which is gone now. I chose the Rialto and the America to shoot. You can see some of his images at www.wyomingtalesandtrails.com . This site has some great images and info of cities all around Wyoming. I'm going to shoot some more of these as time allows, not to dulicate what he did but more to record what is there now and process them with more of a modern day flare.

Alrighty then, gotta run, I'll leave you with the Rialto.

Mornin' All,

Well it's the Monday before Christmas and I haven't bought a thing. Imagine that, a guy waiting til the last minute, ha! I think today will be the day though. I'm hoping everyone is worn out from shopping over the weekend and I can sneak in and out with out getting run over by crazy shoppers.

Well we are wrapping up the year at the studio, pretty light schedule for the rest of the year. I'm ok with it, I'm dying to have some time to shoot for me. Yesterday I shot the most beautiful Jewelry Armoir' you will ever see, this guy took 3 years to build it. I'll get some pics posted as soon as I get them edited.

The day after Christmas, I'm gonna start on a small project of shooting downtown....at night....well in the early morning hours anyways. I think you'll like the results.

Well I hope you are all prepared for the Holidays. If your out and about come on down to the Gallery, my Dad will be in all week I'm sure, Sondra and I will be in and out. I'll leave ya with one from Tim and Miranda, what great father daughter team, they were perfect in front of the camera.

Enjoy and Happy Holidays.

Morning all,

Yep, it's Friday again and I know I missed all week. I think it was a case of the lazies on my part. We've been really busy and I've been staying up way too late. Hopefully I'm over it. We had a full run of family shoots this last 10 days or so, so I'm in mass edit mode.

Well Christmas is around the corner and we haven't done a bit of shopping, so I think that is gonna have to get done here pretty quick. I hope you all have been more time managed than us and already braved the mall and are ready to go.

If the weather will straighten itself out a little, like no w i n d, I'm going to start a small project on shooting downtown at night, actually it will probably be early in the morning so there are fewer peeps and cars to contend with. I think the lights down by the theaters and dining areas will be impressive.

Alrighty, then you all have a great weekend and I will be here on Monday. I'm gonna leave you with a real cutie from this last week.

TGIF!

Man the Wind is rippin' out there today! As I sit here lookin' out the window it is nothing but a white out, winter is quickly getting old.

Well the weekend is almost upon us, I'm sure most of you are getting ready for Christmas Party's and such. We have a couple to attend over the next couple weeks and I am looking forward to the social aspect of those gatherings.

Well I almost have Charles and Shante's images done, should have them knocked out today. Then on to the next set. We will be shooting a father and daughter on Sunday, also a hand built jewelery armoire' if the weather is good enough for the gentleman to bring it to the studio.

Alrighty then, hope you all have a good weekend and stay warm, I'll leave you with one of Shante's images, and chat with you on Monday.

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

Mornin' all,

Ok enough of these frigid temps, I say. It would have been a great morning to be out shooting, but If I didn't freeze, my gear might have..Wow, that wind has a bite.

Well got the Marker's images done and now on to the next...As much as I love shooting, editing and watching the image become a piece of art is really where it is...there is great satisfaction in sitting back a really studying the final product and knowing I made it.

I'm starting on Shante and Charles today, hopefully I will finish them. They were a fun couple to shoot, and the images are just gonna be fantastic.

Don't forget the craft fair at the Sunrise Shopping Center this Saturday, I've got lots of wonderful Wyoming Landscapes in all sizes to choose from, they make great Christmas Gifts. So if your out, come on by the Gallery. I'm sure Sondra will put them on a special 1 Day Sale...so don't miss out.

Alrighty then I'm out, I'll leave you with a wonderful black and white portrait from the weekend. Stay Warm!

Tuesday, December 8, 2009

G-Morning all...

Wow is this weather somethin' else...I wanted some snow alright, but theses temperatures...not so much!
What a crazy weekend, 3 family shoots on Sunday, but all went well. So I'm in edit mode for the next week, 2 sets I have to get done PDQ, 'cause they are ordering Christmas cards and that is sneaking up on us quickly. I do a lot of editing at night 'cause there are no distractions, however when I get in the "zone" I stay up way too late and therefore have a hard time getting motivated in the morning.

Well gotta run Mason to school and get the day rollin'. I'll leave ya with one from the weekend.

Friday, December 4, 2009

TGIF!,

Morning All

Yea yea, I know I missed a couple days, just some personal brain damage. Well I've got a weekend full of portrait work to do. We had to re-arrange the schedule so now Sunday is booked full, but that's fine, bring it on! I had an interesting call on Wednesday, some folks inquiring about some portraits in Conwell Park. The reason for the park is all the Christmas lights, the interesting part, at night. I told them I could probably make it work. So I went down there last night after dark to give it a go, before I call them back. The results I think would be fab. It was only 9 above zero last night, so I couldn't get Sondra to model for me...imagine that...I did some scenic shots instead. The one I'm going to leave you with today would make a fabulous Christmas card. If they decide they want to try it I'll certainly post one here.

Alrighty then I'm out, you all have a great weekend.

Mornin' All

As usual running way late and no material prepared, I was up late workin' on this project for Dr. Brattis. Some Cityscape panoramics. I'll try to get one posted tomorrow. I did however get the Black and White version of Devils Tower done so let me know what you think of it. Some images just work in Black and White and 'm pleased with this one.

Well the Gallery show was all over the front page of the Glenrock Bird. If your not a suscriber I think you can read part of it by clicking the link. Again I can't thank Amanda enough for making it a hit.

Well we will see what today brings, The weather is supposed to be pretty nice, but I think some snow is coming. I really want some, as I said before I have a couple spots scouted that will make some wonderful winter landscapes and after going to Devil's Tower, the creative juices are realy flowing. I might have to revisit some older works today to keep the inspriation rollin.

Alrighty then, I'm out and will chat with you tomorrow.

Morning All,

What fast and crazy weekend we had. Took Mason Whitetail Hunting up to the Black Hills Natl Forest. They left Saturday morning with my friend JD and his better half Alisha, I blazed up Saturday evening. They had no luck on Saturday. So we got up early and I mean early and headed up to hunt. We saw 6 Doe's in about a 2 hour span but not one buck. So we did a little road hunting to no avail. Then decided we outta go over to Devils Tower for some pics, and that was way worth the extra time. The weather was perfect and we had the place to ourselves. If you haven't been there I would certainly recommend it.

Well I've got a pretty busy week ahead and running late as usual this morning. So I'll leave you with this from yesterday. Stay tuned for more. Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Friday, November 27, 2009

Black Friday is here!

Well, I'm not gonna be out there today it will be a zoo. I think I'll just stay tucked in front of the computer today and stay out of the shopping melee'.

I hope you all had a happy Thanksgiving, made merry, and all that. We had had a good day at my dads place, fried and baked turkeys with all the trimmins' of course.

Normally I don't do a lot of family snaps (much to the irritation of my wife) but yesterday I did, documentary style. I'm going to put them together in a book with no words just in order by time.

We also went out and shot some cityscapes for an upcoming project for Dr. Brattis. I'll keep you filled in as things progress.

Alrighty then I'm out, but I'll leave you with this image from yesterday. Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Wednesday, November 25, 2009

Good Morning

Yea I missed yesterday, the fact is I got up late. I was up late on FaceBook talking to some old friends I hadn't heard from since the early '90's. It was great to reconnect with them.

Well this week is Thanksgiving so, I ended up rescheduling some family portraits for next week. I'm going to take Mason deer hunting this weekend. He is so excited to go. We are actually making it a family thing and going with another couple, so it should be fun. I'm going to hunt with the camera for the most part, since it's his first official year.

So not much photography stuff goin' on this week. I did update my main site with the new print pricing and updated most of the galleries. So take some time to surf it.

I want to thank everyone that attended the show. I appreciate the support. I also want to thank Amanda for putting it on and making it a success.

Today I'm gonna meet with a couple about some portraits and try to get the slideshow fixed so it's on the right side of the page.

I'll leave you with this image of Garden Creek Falls, this was one that was purchased at the show...I've shot this many times and could go do it again. There are some many ways to present this image. Check back tomorrow for another view.

Thanks for reading and have a great day.

Monday, November 23, 2009

Morning All,

Monday has rolled around again. What a great weekend, the show was good and finally got some real down time.
I also got a slide show up, it's short for now but I got it figured out. You'll have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see it, but I can change that with a little help from my web guy today. I'll put it over on the right 'cause I really hate scrolling.

Well got some family portraits to shoot this week and if we continue to have some good weather, I have to take to shots of the city for a commercial job. I'll post the results as they happen.

Well gotta run, I'm a little late this morning. Have a good day and thanks for readin'.

Friday, November 20, 2009

Wooo Hooo, Friday is here!

Yea I know a little too much excitement for 7:00 in the morning. I'm just ready for a couple days of relaxing with the family. Oh yea and the show tomorrow night.

Acacia and her mom, Heather came in yesterday and placed their order from her Senior shoot, they are great peeps. We also booked another family shoot for December, So December is filling up pretty fast. Which suites me just fine, I work better under pressure ;).

I'm gonna try to work on some photo's for myself tomorrow and figure out the slideshow thingy for here. Those are two priorities. I know I said I was gonna relax, but we have to be at the studio for a few hours tomorrow before the show.

Well I gotta take Mason to the dentist for a cleaning this morning, but I will leave you with one of Acacia's images from her shoot. Have a great weekend and thanks for reading.

Thursday, November 19, 2009

G-Mornin All

Yesterday was pretty productive, I got most of Karson's pics done and Sondra got the new print pricing done. So it's up on the site. Check it out if you have a minute. My web guy did a printable PDF. Bear in mind this pricing is for outsourced prints only, all in house printing is still at the same pricing structure. The new print house we are using does a wonderful job, the images are spot on so you won't be disappointed. The pricing is also very affordable.

Well it's Thursday already and I haven't worked on one image for myself, I tell ya the time just gets away. I really wanna go through some old images as well. I have a ton of stuff from Germany I need to scan. The never ending list of things to do.

I think that's it for today, I'll leave ya with an Castle from Germany since we were on that subject. I also promise I'll get some more interesting material to write about. ;)

Wednesday, November 18, 2009

Wednesday Already!

The week is screamin' by as usual...We are ready for the Show, finally... So if your just tuning in, it's at the "Western Art Gallery" in Glenrock, Wy this Saturday from 6:30 to 8:30. Hosted by Amanda Smith, a very accomplished Western Art Photographer and Owner of the Glenrock Bird Paper as well as publisher and owner of the Open Range Magazine.

I made some changes to my website yesterday, putting this years Senior and Portraits in the main gallery, I'm also gonna move some Wedding images there, I just ran out of time.

Karson's pics are almost done, gonna try to get that finished up today as well as get the new print pricing done so I can get that up on the site. The phone is ringing a bit for some Christmas pics, seems a little late coming this year, but I guess with economy on the crappy side folks just have to prioritise.

Here is Karson's wanted poster, I hope he likes it. Hope ya all have a good day and thanks for readin'!

Mornin' All

Looks like it's gonna be warmer today. As much as I want some snow to go shoot, I'm kinda liken' this warm stuff, although I could do without the wind!

Well Yesterday was kinda quiet, we had bunch of errands to do, so the reality is I didn't get much accomplished. I did get a few more of Karson's Senior pics done, so have a look and see what you think. Todays list is a little longer and getting set up for the show will take up most of the day I'm sure. I also gotta run back to the eye doc to get checked again, problem is solved as far as I'm concerned, but he's the doc.

We are huge movie buffs, so last night we watched "The Ugly Truth" what a hoot, I'm not much for that Romantic Comedy sorta genre, but that flick is a 10 in my book. So if yo haven't seen it, put it on the list.

I'm still workin' on the slideshow thingy for this, I haven't forgot just got pushed to the back burner a bit. I'm hopin this week I can get it figured out.

Alrighty then, I'm out...Have a great day and thanks for readin'

Monday, November 16, 2009

Ah Monday has rolled up on us again.

Well we are finally ready for the show in Glenrock, wow we waited way too long to get ready. Sondra will be taking it all down tomorrow to get set up. I think we should have a pretty good turn out.

Yesterday I shot Karson Shepperson's Senior pics, that was way fun, he's got a good personality and easy to shoot. He brought a saddle as one of his props, we made pretty good use of it. The posted image is just one example. We did get a cool shot of him lookin' all "tough guy" I made a "Wanted" poster out of it. I think it's pretty cool, we'll see what he thinks!

I'm pretty well done with this cold snap we've had and am ready for a little warmer weather. However still want some snow, I'm way ready to get out of the studio and shoot some winterscapes.

This weeks schedule is pretty light, unless the phone rings of course, so this should give me some time to work on some stuff for myself. I'll post here as things develop. (pun intended) ;)

Alrighty then, it's off to take Mason to school and see what the day brings. Thanks fo readin'!

Friday, November 13, 2009

It's Friday...YAY!

Man this week has cruised by and no we are still not completely ready for the show. ARRGH! Almost though, I'm pretty certain Sondra will finish up today. Finally got our internet issued handled yesterday, that was some serious brain damage.

Looks like we got another Senior shoot on Sunday, a young man from Midwest Wyoming, I'll fill ya in on that later. I also have a meeting with a Wedding planner at 1:00 today, so I'll let ya know how that goes.

My friend Tim Zeipekis is a photog from Michigan and has started a blog, so if you want to see some terrific images please check out his Blog. Also to see some of his images in person stop by the Gallery as I have some in print.

Well we got a little snow last night, not really enough to make any dramatic images, but enough to kill the wind. Wow it has been brutal.

I hope you all have a good day and weekend and we will chat on Monday.

Thursday, November 12, 2009

G-Mornin' All,

I missed yesterday, I know...complete space cadet on my part. We were having a bit of trouble with our internet at the studio so I was tasked with meeting the Qwest guy and he never showed (imagine that). So hopefully we can get it squared up today.

Well spent most of yesterday framing and framing and framing....It seems like it will never end. The good news is only 4 left to do and Sondra has to finish some shrink wrapping, then we should be ready to haul it all to Glenrock on Monday or Tuesday to set up.

I also spent a bunch of time deleting and organizing folders and images on my back-up drives. It can get out of control pretty fast and I've changed my structure a bit to help keep everything in order with less copies.

Ok , gotta run here's and image that will be at the show. I hope you all have a good day.

Tuesday, November 10, 2009

Mornin' all

Here we are again, the days just seem to fly by. Nothing to exciting on the schedule today, gonna print a few landscapes and get a price list of additional products up on my site. Sondra is gonna continue matting, framing and shrink wrapping prints today. Hopefully by close of biz tomorrow we will be ready for the show.

As much as I hate the cold and blowing weather, I'm ready for some snow. I really am ready to go shoot some winter landscapes... I've scouted a few locations so bring on some snow ;)

Here's a shot of a old barn near Tensleep Wyoming, this is one that I will print large today, it has been a popular print and I'm excited to see it large in frame, since I've only done 8 x 10's so far.

Alrighty then, it's off to the studio, hope you have a great day.

Monday, November 9, 2009

Well it's Monday all over again,

It was a pretty quiet weekend here, just hung out with the family. My lovely wife cooked up a batch of Jagerschnitzel on Sunday that was to die for...and Mason has been kinda sick, so we just relaxed.

Today it's back to the framing game, I tell ya I'll be glad when we are done. It looks like I'll end up with about 27 pieces for the show in Glenrock plus 4 16x20 portrait examples. I'm taking 2 from Jordan Pinkerton's engagement session, I think she'll be excited to see them blown up.

If you are a subscriber to the Open Range magazine, look for me there this month. Pretty exciting to get story there and "Mountain Retreat" from the Rose Awards contest will be published.

Well guess it's off to get the day rollin' Hope you all have a good one and thanks for readin'!

Friday, November 6, 2009

TGIF!!

Morning,

Well yesterday got lost pretty fast, my eye doc shut me down for most of the day. My contacts are irritating my eyes so he's having me put some steroid drops in 4 times a day. So I was without contacts til I could run home and get my glasses later in the day and had to wait on Walgreens til 5 to get the drops. I'm 4 eyed now for a few days to see if this handles the problem. I hope and quick.

Well Tyler is all finished up just need to have the web guy (my dad) put his proofs up today. Yes that right my dad (Fred) is my web guy and darn good at that, check out his site if you have a minute or need some web work, it's Altered Images.

Since it's Friday and maybe you'll have some time to surf today (when the boss isn't lookin') in my case the wife ;)... Check out Photo.net for some great photographers and forums.

I'm gonna take it easy today and for the weekend, other than getting some stuff framed, working on a new piece for the show, and still trying to figure out how to put a slideshow up here that's about it.

I hope you all have a good weekend and I look forward to chatting next week.

Thursday, November 5, 2009

G-Morning All,

Well yesterday was full up and went by way to fast...
I got Tyler's pics almost finished and I put some up on my main site in the Portrait Gallery under Seniors. So take a look and let me know what you think.

Also got Jack Jameson handled, he is a Farmers Insurance Agent and has won some prestigious awards and his story is being published in a company magazine. Nice guy and pretty easy to shoot.

We got a few pieces framed up yesterday for the show. Man I tell ya it is sneaking up and we are just scrambling to get ready. Again it's on Saturday, November 21st at the "Western Art Gallery" in Glenrock. So if you plan to attend please RSVP on my main site using the contact page. I really appreciate the support.

O.K. more framing is on the list today and hopefully I'll get time to figure out how to put a small gallery up here. Gotta go to the eye doc today and get my contacts checked, they are driving me crazy.

I'm off to take Mason to school and get the day rollin'. Have a good one and thanks for reading.

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

Morning All!

I'm a little late posting this morning, decided to sleep in a little and a little longer run on the treadmill. Today I'm shooting a Farmers Insurance Agent for their Awards Publication. I'm also gonna finish Tyler's Senior pics and try to get some stuff framed up for my show at the Western Art Gallery. There are just not enough hours in the day!

O.K. I promised a teaser from Tyler's shoot so here it is.

Hopefully by the end of the week I'll have a slide show up of some of the images that will be at the show this month.

Alrighty then off to the Studio, hope you all have a good day!

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Ah morning again...

Wow, yesterday blew by and I didn't get Tyler's images proofed til late sooooo, I'll get 1 or 2 put up tomorrow, I promise.

However, I did get Jordan and Cody's print order done. For those of you that haven't seen them, here's a taste.
This was one of their favorites from the outdoor session. To see the rest just jump over to my main site and check out the wedding gallery. Their images are under the engagement menu. They are a great couple to work with and really look forward to shooting the wedding.

Today we continue to get images ready for the Show and Sale at the Western Art Gallery in Glenrock. That is gonna be on the 21st of November from 6:30 to 8:30.
Since I have proven there are not enough hours in the day, I'm sure I will be scrambling to be finished. I am gonna have a previously unseen image on display. (Assuming I get it done! ;))

As I said Yesterday this is my first go at this blogging thing so anyone with some ideas for content besides my own ramblings, please feel free to give me some ideas.

Alrighty then, I need to run my son to school and get rollin'! Have a great day an I'll see ya tomorrow.

Monday, November 2, 2009

Monday Morning!

Good Morning all,

Well I've decided to try my hand at some blogging, so here it is. My intent is to update it day to day with stuff that is happening at the studio, current technical information, and some local artsy news.

So the current projects are:

Tyler Henion's Senior pics - I'll post a teaser image later.
Preparing for the show at the "Western Art Gallery" in Glenrock.

More on these later today as for now gotta run....Thanks for reading!
